Janet Werner (b. 1959, Winnipeg, Manitoba) lives and works in Montreal, Quebec. She acquired her MFA from Yale College in 1987. Solo exhibitions embody Parisian Laundry (Montreal), Galerie Julia Garnatz (Cologne), Saidye Bronfman Centre for the Arts (Montreal), Whatiftheworld Gallery (Cape City) and Plug Institute of Modern Artwork (Winnipeg). Group exhibitions embody AXENEO7 (Gatineau), MASS MoCA (North Adams), Musée d’artwork contemporain (Montreal), Kenderdine Artwork Gallery (Saskatoon). A solo survey exhibition entitled, “One other Good Day” organized by the Kenderdine Artwork Gallery, College of Saskatchewan, toured to 5 places in Canada from 2013-2015, together with the Esker Basis (Calgary); the McIntosh Gallery, (Ontario); Galerie de l’UQAM (Montreal); and the Doris McCarthy Gallery (Toronto). Werner’s work is within the collections of the Musée du Québec, Musée d’artwork contemporain (Montreal), The Artwork Gallery of Ontario (AGO), Toronto, Owens Artwork Gallery (Sackville), the Canadian Embassy in Berlin, College of Lethbridge (Alberta), Winnipeg Artwork Gallery, the Mendel Artwork Gallery and quite a few non-public and company collections.
