Subliminal Projects is happy to current The Versus Mission IV, a world touring group exhibition co-curated by the German artist duo Layer Cake, individually often known as graffiti veterans Patrick Hartl and Christian Hundertmark (C100).
Difficult the well-known Graffiti rule: “by no means paint over different writers,” Layer Cake invitations the broader graffiti and avenue artwork group to just do that. Beginning with a canvas, the duo creates an unfinished base that’s then despatched to a visitor artist, starting a non-verbal col- laborative course of till the work is full. The works end in layers of every artist’s contribution that each mix and spotlight their private kinds.
“Engaged on The Versus Mission is an experiment in uncompromising teamwork,” says the Layer Cake staff. “By the mission, works have been created that might by no means have existed in any other case and signify a broadening of inventive boundaries for us and our visitor artists.”
